Had been sick for over six weeks testing negative for everything. Severe cough, congestion, hemorrhaged eye vessels, etc. Appeared to have a very bad case of bronchitis which was a first for me. Antibiotics useless against viruses. I continued to worsen seeing my internal med doc three successive Wednesdays, so he had me admitted to the hospital. Tested positive for COVID the second day there. First time having it for me. They said I had a confluence of all sorts of bugs.
Never had experienced acid reflex before either but stuck in isolation ward apparently developed this an issue for me as well. Puking and coughing is absolutely no fun at all.
The steroids wreaked havoc on my blood sugar. Saw crazy swings from 77 to 365. Home now and getting my A1C back to 7.2 again hopefully.
The upside was the great medical staff of various specialists and nurses. I received outstanding care here in Rapid City.

Glad to hear you’re doing better, my friend. Yes, steroids will raise hell with blood sugar.

Thanks guys.
Another note. Humidifiers were shut down in the isolation wards resulting in very low humidity levels. Such prudent action controls airborne dispersion of pathogens. The result was drying out of nasal passages and ineffectiveness of CPAP humidification. Ended up sleeping in a recliner and finding Nozin orange scented nasal moisturizer and anti-bacterial (MRSA) gel https://www.nozin.com/nozin-nasal-sanitizer/ to be a great alternative to my home use Ayr and Rhinase. That said you really have to work to get all the gel out in the swab decolonization ampules.
