Glad you recognized it & got it taken care of. I was on Keppra for about 4 weeks after having a seizure due a brain tumor. After the prednisone wore of, t was a month of the worst hangover ever.

At least you had the presence of mind to get help. I'm glad things worked out. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Holy crap! Close call, glad it worked out in the end. This strikes home with me, I was on Keppra for several years... It was way better than Dilatnin, but still crappy side effects and gave me wicked hang-overs. I had to get my liver functions tested every so often when I was on it. A couple years ago, I found a new Neurologists, got a whole new work up etc. and I am now on Lamotrigine. Much less side effects.

FWIW Trileptal is was developed to treat epilepsy and has been found to be effective on bipolar. Some seizure drugs seem to cross borders. Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.
