I remember almost 30 years ago as a second lieutenant, running the endurance course at TBS, which the FBI shared with us for their own physical training (Jodie Foster is seen running the same trail in Silence of the Lambs). We were competing individually, going at it "balls to the wall," running with rifles and 782 gear, and covered from head to toe with mud. I and a couple other Marines passed a formation of FBI agents, or cadets, hiking the opposite direction. One of them made a catcall and some sort of remark that I didn't catch. The guy next to him loudly told him to "Shut the fuck up unless you want those Marines to kick your ass." Of course we would never have scrapped with them, but apparently that was what they thought of us anyway.
