After eight days of testimony, an eight-member civil trial jury deliberated for about an hour before declaring Reid never proved the first of 10 questions they were asked to decide: that the device he used was a TheraBand made by Hygenic, a company based in Ohio. TheraBand lawyer Laurin Quiat said: “My client always believed in the product, believes that the product is safe, is not unreasonably dangerous for anyone, and they stand behind it. That’s all I have to say.” Reid and his wife sought unspecified monetary damages because they said the product was defective and the company failed to warn the public it was dangerous for elderly people to use. The company attorney also raised questions about Reid’s truthfulness. The day he killed the Yucca mountain nuclear waste disposal project and forced spent nuclear fuel to remain indefinitely in containment pools at the reactor sites around the country I knew he was a Traitor to the U.S. The lax security and other risks of the local storage are a disaster waiting to happen. And he said he killed it because states would not allow the waste to be hauled through them. And that is absurd - because of the interstate commerce clause, federal highways, Department of Energy and many other reasons that Feds could overrule any state level "not through my backyard" law. He killed it to appease environmentalists that don't want nuclear power. Except it's the only option to produce emissions-free power on the scale the country needs. A waste of 18 Billion dollars spent before the cancellation. | |||

I'm not convinced that Reid didn't quietly orchestrate the Senate approval of Yucca in 2002 to bring the billions into the state for its construction knowing that he'd eventually kill the project just before it could be completed. NRA Life Patron | |||
