Indeed. Short of any shenanigans from the left, I can't imagine the law surviving Heller and Bruen at the SCOTUS level.

With the current make-up of the Court and the Heller and Bruen decisions on the books, there is probably not a better time to get the AWB issue before the court and get a good decision from them. That would put an end to the nonsense for a good long while.
Assuming the best outcome above, we're still stuck with it for probably for a good year once the bill is formally passed and signed off by Inslee. It takes time to wind though the courts and have a positive disposition in our favor but I hope I'm wrong and the Benitez ruling helps to fast tracks things.

Just a heads up, Aero Precision is doing 25% off right now for us in Washington. When you get to checkout use WA25, it's gotta be at checkout though, because they want to make sure you've got a Washington address.

I’m really torn about this. I already have AR rifles (5.56 and .308) as well as an AR pistol and an M1A. I really don’t need any more, but am feeling compelled to buy just because this shit might pass.
I expect to flee this state within the next 3-5 years, so I would be able to add things at that point but part of me just wants to scream FUCK YOU INSLEEZE! by adding a few more EBR’s to the state.
What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

I totally get it, and I did the same thing. It felt great to buy them and flip the bird to Inslee and the clowns who want this legislation, and it felt even better to pack them all up and drive them out of the state, never to return.

As a native Californian I have been down this road several times.

I fear that us guys in Michigan are facing the same problem. The democrats have both houses and the governors chair and a large batch of bills have been introduced in both houses.
Not looking good.

IIRC Washington is part of the 9th Circuit. California's AWB is about to get bounced back up to them by Benitez, and they're going to have to rule on it under the NYSRPA decision. That's when the rubber will hit the road. The decision that comes out of that will be binding on Washington also.
Of course. A suit is probably already drafted and ready to go.
Bruen will demand the reversal of a lot of this legislation. And with the current make-up of the Supremes . . .

An update by Washington Gun Law on possible timeline and he also discusses the cases pending ruling by Judge Benitez in California and ramifications of that.

This bill includes repair parts too.
Fortunately I did order a few repair parts ... though did not cover all my bases, I will get by.
Many businesses supplying repair parts will not be able to ship to Washington. I can not help to think that a "spring is a spring". Hopefully this will work out somehow.
So much for entering rifle karmas ... and feeling a ban on semi-auto pistols is soon following.
Now working on a way to help my family (wife/daughters) sell/transfer what I have upon my passing ... legally. Just sayin'.

The Washington State governor signed this assault rifle (and parts) ban today :
Thanks to the suggestion here I was able to buy from Aero a couple of AR lower parts just days before this was signed.
Geez.

Wonder what the timeline before lawsuits are filed and it getting tossed will be.
Would love to see elect3d officials be held PERSONALLY liable when they pass unconstitutional laws. Just going to piss away taxpayers dollars fighting/defending it when the writing is clearly on the wall.

2nd Amendment Foundation is suing WA State over the ban
SECOND AMENDMENT FOUNDATION SUES WASHINGTON OVER SEMI-AUTO BAN
April 25, 2023 BELLEVUE, WA – Responding quickly to the adoption of House Bill 1240 by the Washington Legislature and Gov. Jay Inslee signing it into law, the Second Amendment Foundation today filed a federal lawsuit challenging the new statute on Second and Fourteenth Amendment grounds, and is asking the court for preliminary and permanent injunctions.
The complaint was filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. The case is known as Hartford v. Ferguson. Joining SAF are the Firearms Policy Coalition, Sporting Systems, a Hazel Dell retailer, and three private citizens, Brett Bass, Douglas Mitchell and Lawrence Hartford, for whom the case is named. They are represented by Seattle attorney Joel Ard.
Named as defendants are Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson, State Patrol Chief John R. Batiste, Kitsap County Sheriff John Gese and County Prosecutor Chad M. Enright; Kittitas County Sheriff Clayton Myers and County Prosecutor Greg Zempel; Clark County Sheriff John Horch and County Prosecutor Tony Golik, and Snohomish County Sheriff Adam Fortnoy and County Prosecutor Jason Cummings, all in their official capacities.
“The State has enacted a flat prohibition on the manufacture, sale, import and distribution of many types of firearms, inaccurately labeled as ‘assault weapons,’ which are owned by millions of ordinary citizens across the country,” said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. “In the process, the state has criminalized a common and important means of self-defense, the modern semiautomatic rifle. The state has put politics ahead of constitutional rights, and is penalizing law-abiding citizens while this legislation does nothing to arrest and prosecute criminals who misuse firearms in defiance of all existing gun control laws. It is absurd.”
He noted that SAF already has two legal actions in progress, challenging Washington gun laws. One lawsuit concerns the magazine ban and the other challenges the ban on sales of semiautomatic rifles to young adults.
“The hysteria manufactured by the authors and supporters of this legislation is rivaled only by the false characterization of the banned firearms as ‘weapons of war,’” SAF Executive Director Adam Kraut, added. “As we note in our complaint, the firearms that Washington bans as ‘assault weapons’ are, in all respects, ordinary semiautomatic rifles. To the extent they are different from other semiautomatic rifles, their distinguishing features make them safer and easier to use. But even if they are considered as a separate group of ‘assault weapons,’ they cannot be banned because they are not dangerous and unusual.
“We will take this case to the highest court in the land, if necessary,” Kraut added. “This sort of legislative demagoguery cannot be allowed to stand.”
IF you live in WA state, you should join the 2A Foundation, I'm a lifetime member, they are the ones taking the fight to the states over these things, or you can donate at the link to help them with the costs, right now they have 8 lawsuits going against states over bans...

Lawsuits will be filed within days I am sure, same as happened in Illinois. Right now all eyes are on Judge Benitez in his decisions of Miller v Bonta for California's AWB and his decision is expected any time now. I am sure William Kirk of Washington Gun Law will have a new video probably today going into more detail.
Here in Illinois it has been over three months since the lawsuits have been filed and we are hopeful of restraining order from federal court judge McGlynn very soon as by some time in May.
In the mean time sadly many gun stores and FFLs will be driven out of business which is part of the plan being a bonus for the marxists even if their bad laws are overturned at great expense to the tax payers.
