Wilson combat disappointment
I recently purchased one of their sharkskin belts and matching holster. The holster is awesome but the belt....ugh.....i wore it for the first time and the leather backing cracked in several places and black dye came off onto my pants. Im in the process of returning it but dang......for what that bugger cost it shouldnt need returned. I did a little research and i found that others had the same issues. Just an FYI for ya'll. Im sure theyll make it right though

I’ve been let down by Wilson as well. Two different 870 magazine extensions full of rust straight from them. They couldn’t seem to have cared less.

Wilson is known for their 1911's, belts, holsters and such are simply add-on margin-gravy for them. Best to buy a belt from a brand that knows how to make belts.

He's in the process of returning it. So, the fact that WC will make it right doesn't change the reality that this is not an isolated issue. It's good for folks who might be contemplating buying this specific product to pause and give a second thought. That's how I see it.

The Wilson Sharkskin belt is on sale for +/- $125.00. I done think it's unreasonable to be disappointed that it has to be returned and I appreciate the heads-up.

He sure is. Armour belts are awesome. I think another benefit to them, besides their quality and quick turnaround time, is their price point is friendly enough to where you can buy a 1.5" and 1.25" belt.

That's what I did, I have the 1.25" belt for dress pants and the 1.5" for every day wear.

I, for one, don’t understand this type of attitude. I would be upset too and why shouldn’t he vent? Plus, he may save someone else from getting a bad product.

For most of us the standard would be "right the first time." His research shows his problem wasn't unique. Now comes contacting the company, returning the items, and spending time waiting. Myself, I'd be frustrated.

The ONLY way Wilson could make it right was to have sent a good belt the first time.
Anything after that may be making it a little better, but it isn't right

Just because you can return an item and get a refund or replacement doesn't make it a good product. It's still a shitty product, and I think it's perfectly fair to blast it.

Wilson Combat's leather gear used to be fantastic quality. Back in the day (early/mid-2000s) it was made by Rafter S. My first real gunbelt was a Wilson Combat, and it actually has the Wilson Combat eagle logo stamped directly over the Rafter S logo.

But since Rafter S went the way of the Dodo in the late 2000s, I'm not sure who's doing their leather gear now... Sounds like it isn't the same quality.

Completely agree. Postings like this do more good to help keep people from getting burned than the “bad” publicity to a large business like Wilson.

Every time I get an e-mail from Wilson about leather products, I just delete it. I know the prices are going to be laughable and the holsters ugly.
