My nephew was recently drafted by the Atlanta Braves. He made his professional debut Wednesday night with the Danville Braves.  Wednesday night's game was a highly anticipated one, as the Atlanta Braves' 5th round draft selection, Bruce Zimmermann made his professional debut. The Cardinals did express interest and said they would "keep in touch".  Unfortunately, the Cardinals lost some draft picks because of some silly hacking of another team's info by a former scout. Being signed by a major league franchise is no small feat, but the reference to "the show" is reserved for those who actually play at the major league level. Playing for a minor league affiliate, or farm team, would not be considered "the show". I'm certainly not trying to minimize the accomplishment, and congratulations are definitely in order. I'm just trying to clarify the lexicon. Congratulations to the young man, and I sincerely hope that one day he does make it to the show! | |||
