Time to replace our dishwasher. What do you all recommend? My budget is $500-700. I prefer a stainless steel tub, built in. We currently have an LG which is a major POS. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

As is mentioned in most Sigforum appliance threads, friends don't let friends buy LG kitchen/laundry appliances. (Or Samsung.)

LG and Samsung makes excellent TVs and phones, but terrible fridges/dishwashers/washers/dryers.

Miele

May be a bit above budget, but excellent reliability

Lowes has them now, so may be in price range

I got a new Whirlpool a few months ago when our LG died.
IIRC it was at the low end of your budget.

HD & Lowes both had what looked like the same model, I ordered the cheaper to find it had a plastic tub & no third tray. Saved about $90, so wish I'd gone with the slightly more expensive model.

Get something made by Whirlpool. I prefer KitchenAid, but find something you like the look & features of that meets your budget/price point and I'm sure you'll be quite happy.

I've got a KitchenAid dishwasher (circa 2002), a KitchenAid refrigerator (circa 2006), and a Kenmore Washer & Dryer (circa 1998), so needless to say, I've been quite pleased with the performance/life of Whirlpool appliances! I've had to make some minor repairs to each, but they're still going strong. Making those repairs also revealed they're built quite well...I'm a Whirlpool customer for life! Wink

In order of price. Built in Ohio, quiet, you almost can't hear the KitchenAid run.

The first on the list is the one I sell the most of.

Maytag MDB4949SKZ

Maytag MDB8959SKZ

KitchenAid KDTM604KPS

NOT the entry level GE Profile. It is weak-sauce; very flimsy, works but sucks

That price range, I would 100% recommend IKEA. They are made in USA by a major brand, good bang for the buck, stainless inside and ~95% as quiet as a $1k+ Bosch.

We put in the plastic tub, Whirlpool, version of this one.
Very similar in look & wish I'd spent the small bit extra for the stainless tub model.

Pretty quiet, too. You can hear it running, but not enough to need to raise the TV volume or anything.

We can barely hear our KitchenAid run as Brad noted. Ours is about 15 years old and quiet, works perfectly and, hopefully, we'll get another 5-10 years out of it.

Be careful with Lowes. They no longer do their own installations and getting your dishwasher delivered and installed by Lowes is not worth the little you might save if you buy from them.

We replaced our 20yr old KitchenAid with a Bosch.

Had the repairmen out 3 times so far. Last time was for a recall.

Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed.
Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

I did mine DIY, hardest part was dealing with the spind buffer 'blanket' & keeping it in place while sliding the DW back in.

Got 'lucky' and installed before heavy trash day & was able to put the old DW on the curb the next day.

Went to a Kitchenaid three rack after a Bosch. It’s whisper quiet, washes the dishes great, and has ample capacity.

I recoiled in horror at the price when we bought it but it’s been, by far, the best one Ive bought.

Last 2 were Bosch. Both had minor issues.
