I'm sure it is the gun's fault... or some 'teens'.

Maybe they could get a social worker or a committee to help everyone straighten this out.

Kinda stinks either way, but when the whole town of Seattle has everybody that are just victims, you can get some fancy four color preprinted signs and march in the street in protest (watch for the barriers though).

Typical hippie town, they think everyone drives a Subaru. Anybody with a truck will just go over the curb.

As Rush would always say, “Symbolism over substance.” Nothing other than foolish acts of a foolish people.

May the eventually learn from their folly!

Don't worry, after the World Cup Seattle will go back to giving even less of a shit about such things.

They're proud to be a sanctuary for illegal immigrants. They proclaim no person is illegal, and borders are morally wrong. It is fine even for violent gang members and convicted criminals to come in unchecked.

Yet they bemoan Europeans who came here in the 1600's as illegally taking the land of the people already living on the continent.

They erect barriers in their neighborhoods to keep out undesirables such as violent gangs and criminals. They want to control who is allowed into their territory.

Zero awareness.

zero awareness is kind. Starbucks has already packed their crap and largely moved out.
Bezos hauled freight almost a year ago after making it known that if the silliness continued he was gone and gone he is. He had significant space in downtown Seattle, now vacant and nobody lining up to rent. The mayor has hinted that she is considering a tax on vacant buildings to encourage a more serious intent on getting space occupied.

The mayor (early 30's) has never had a job other than working for her parents...or something. In a news conference a bit ago a reporter asked her what she thought about the big companies packing up and leaving; her response, in full: "well, bye".

It would be rude to say she's dumber than a box of rocks but I'm OK with it. On top of that she is really light on arithmetic and apparently bone ignorant on how markets work, from the super kind to the stock and bond kind.

I don't live in Seattle, I'm about 25 soggy miles west but it isn't enough. New neighbors are typically retirees from Cali and even from Seattle and as soon as they get here they want to civilize the place and do unto us as they did unto the last shithole they evacuated.

She's 44, not early 30's.

Now that the barricades have been shot down, maybe the citizens could band together and start a neighborhood watch program. They could make some cool T-shirts with catchy slogans: “Give a’hoot, Don’t shoot”, “I voted for this!”, “<—-I’m with stupid, shoot him/her/they!”.

Better yet, they can petition the city to create a group of armed individuals that could use existing statutes to hold criminals accountable. They could all wear a similar garb, get the same training, have background checks to make sure they’re on the level, and even give them matching cars so everyone could tell them apart.

They could call them “police” or something…

They had that, voted against it, so it’s time for them to cowboy up and deal with it themselves.

yes, sad to say, but...Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is 43 years old. She was born on July 12, 1982.

I recall JAllen's comment from the good old days; Accuracy is always appreciated here but not necessarily required.

thankfully. Thanks for the correction too.
