This. These guys do a great job, and several episodes have terrific guests. _____________________________________________________________________ “One of the common failings among honorable people is a failure to appreciate how thoroughly dishonorable some other people can be, and how dangerous it is to trust them.” – Thomas Sowell

After hearing Bret on JRE and Tucker I thought I’d really enjoy this but no. Just seemed forced. A good podcast flows with real conversation. I think that’s why I enjoy JRE, Tucker, Shawn Ryan (though somebody needs to light a fire under him, he seems low energy). Quality guests make a difference when they have good stories. Maybe that’s why I didn’t enjoy Darkhorse, he’s forced to make conversation with the other person who’s talked to each other about everything. I drive a lot so podcasts and Audible are my go to. I am not BIPOLAR. I don't even like bears.

During Hockey season, spitting chiclets and Morning Bru, a Bruins podcast.

I have caught a few of Shawn Ryan’s, a few of Rogan’s (mostly David Goggins), The Cowboy Cartel, a few episodes of Jocko, a few financial guys… I just don’t have the attention span for podcasts over an hour or so. I get a little bored. Shawn Ryan seems to keep my attention for more than an hour, but I can’t do a 4 hour podcast. The “lol” thread

Yes, but it helped me stay on track during my year of paying off my debt and building my emergency fund. I also learned some neat tips here and there. I don’t listen to many. I have listened to a few episodes of Hardcore History by Dan Carlin and enjoyed them. Especially the WWI series. I’ve also listened to a few episodes of The Office Ladies where the actresses that played Pam and Angela talk in detail about the episodes. If you are a fan of that show that’s a pretty good one. I just listened to one titled “Who Shat on the Floor at our Wedding” and I laughed my ass off. A Netherlands couple got married a few years ago and someone shit on the floor during the reception and they try to figure out who it was with the help of a very amateur detective. It is a lesbian couple but there’s no DEI or any political bullshit. That one is good for a laugh. “Everybody wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock on the streets.” -bionic218 04-02-2014

Same here. I can read faster than listening to someone talk. If I do listen to a "podcast" on YouTube, it's for entertainment value. Like recently, I've been listening to Candace Owens just to get a trendline of whether she's veering off into conspiracy lala land which I don't mind. I'm open to conspiracy theories until I come across an illogical part of the conspiracy. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." But can you read while driving, mowing, mopping, folding clothes, doing the dishes, etc.? That's typically when I listen to podcasts and audiobooks: while driving or doing chores.

This. If it's not worth the bother of transcribing, then IMO it's not worth my time to engage with. I read 20x faster than people talk. To me, listening for content makes paint drying seem exciting. Not in the car enough to matter these days. When I had a commute, I'd listen to stuff from The Learning Company or some of my music.

-JRE, I pick and choose which episodes. I almost never listen when its fighters or comedians on the show. Politics / News: Ben Shapiro Matt Walsh Verdict w/ Ted Cruise (occasionally) The Presidents Daily Brief Entertainment: -Nerdrotic -It was a Shit Show (stories the about difficulties of making movies / shows) -Discovering Dad (shameless plug for an eight episode show my SIL wrote - performed by professional voice actors. Family friendly story) -The Qualified Captain (this is a relatively new podcast so hes finding his style, but hes had on a few guests that have very interesting stories Health: -Huberman Lab For Fun: -The Why Files (conspiracy theory's, aliens, etc.) -Lateral with Tom Scott (kind of question and answer show with wierd facts and trivia where the guests try to work out the answer - example: Between May 25, 1951 and September 26, 1952, these 54 people were alive at the same time. Who were they? ____________________ I Like Guns and stuff

I listen to the Naked Bible Podcast with Dr. Michael S. Heiser. Very interesting information on the biblical worldview. He has a rather rabid hatred for the Hebrew Roots movement which he consistently mischaracterizes but other than that it’s good info. I listen to Chewing the Gristle by Greg Kock sometimes, too.
