Wow...terrible that you had to endure this, especially during this time of the year, but it sounds like you already have a great opportunity ahead of you. Good people that do their job well and have good work ethic always have opportunities available to them. All things considered, having a tighter labor market at the moment may also help you end up with an even better overall compensation package with the new company. Finding a job so quickly having been given a generous severance package is truly a blessing any way you look at it too. May God bless you with this new opportunity and that it work out even better than expected!

P.S. If you relocate to Dallas, be prepared for some brutally balmy winters. Smile

Glad to hear there's a light at the end of the tunnel for you. Good luck.

3-1-18 UPDATE

I did not get the original position I interviewed for, I ran into the overqualified wall. I was asked to apply for another higher position in the organization and closed it today! This process took 9 interviews over 2 trips to Dallas but I couldn't be happier, I start on 3-26 so I get a few weeks to chill and get ready.

There are at least 7 places in the US named "Dallas", so which one are you relocating to? If the one in Texas, be sure to let us all know so we can properly welcome you! There are a great many of us here in DFW.

No relocation, I’ve been in the Medical Distribution business for 25 years. For the last 11 I was a corporate acct director in the MED Surg, Vet, and Dental business. I work from home and travel to the accounts I manage. The Dallas I’m visiting is Texas, specifically Irving and the Los Colinas area.

I’m trapped in Ma for a variety of reasons but mainly due to my wife having a fantastic job that has a pention, my aging parents and an eight grade aged daughter. I would love to have the opportunity to live in the DFW area and I do spend some there and will now spend much more.
Thank you!

Thank you and yes it was. I’m hearing I was lucky as some others did not get packaged out! We banked it, because I had to sign for severance Ma unemployment green lighted benefits which really helped. My one spend will be on a patio which I will name after my former company :-)

If you only could have had that job in Texas you would have been eligible for 12131's P228 offer.

At least you got the job, maybe you can transfer later. Smile
