You probably know I've done some fundraisers in the past for SigForum -- this one is my hardest one yet, because it's for my family.
I talked with Para about it and struggled with putting it up, but my grandmother, mom, daughter, and her mom have all had a major medical event this year. I could cope with one or two of them, but not all of them at once.
All of you have been so amazing in the previous campaigns and I hope to ask for your help this time too. Thank you all so much.
I appreciate the prayers and your help!! We're very fortunate in that all the medical treatment is going well, so money well spent thus far. My daughter's surgery went fantastic (I uploaded a picture right after she got out of the OR) and her mom's chemotherapy looks like it'll take -- so far, looks like she's in remission and she's been lucky enough to avoid hair loss. I'll keep posting updates over the next couple weeks to let everyone how the family is doing!
Bumping this to the top, Legal Beagle has done so much in those group buys and other forum activities that it’s disheartening to see the slow response so far.
@Legal Beagle, perhaps editing the title to reflect your name? “Medical Fundraiser for SIGForum member Legal Beagle”, it’s easier to figure out what it is at a glance.

Thanks for that —- I’m good at hyping other fundraisers and campaigns, just feels a little weird doing my own. I’ve changed the title as suggested and really appreciate you supporting my fundraiser. Not a huge update, but my sister and I are down in Florida taking care of our mom, and I was able to take her for treatment to help with her Parkinson’s and dystonia. It was really nice to be able to do that myself instead of just having a caregiver take her, and y’all helped make that possible.
Thanks Lou! We’ve been really, really lucky when it comes to results from the doctors. Going down the list, my grandmothers’ last appointment showed no signs of remission (5 years!) so her cancer is gone and she can move forward with her cataract surgery in August, and the tech has progressed to where it’s really a nothing thing recovery-wise. My daughter’s surgery went as well as it could and she’s recovering nicely, said before it was “like having three extra bags of groceries on your arm” when you walk. Her mom managed to get a clean PET scan and didn’t lose any of her hair so that was amazing, and my mom is doing okay (it’s mostly palliative care and keeping her happy). I just wish getting good healthcare wasn’t crazy expensive in the US…
Prayers for you and your family. Glad to help you get this past you as much as I can. Take care of your girls and thanks for helping Sig Forum like you do.
It's all about clean living. Just do the right thing, and karma will help with the rest.

Thanks y’all! I really appreciate all the thoughts, prayers, and support. I’ve gotten so many nice messages from folks on the forum and it’s made it a lot easier to work through things when you know you have good friends behind you.
