John Batchelor coincidentally on Sunday, re-ran an interview from 2016 with legal scholar Richard Epstein, critiquing an article Toobin had written in the New Yorker, were he eviscerates Justice Antonin Scalia a month after his death. Toobin basically comes across as a duplicitous, ignoramus of legal history and like most leftists, lacking in perspective.

I almost never do video conferencing unless specifically requested by my Director or above. Been doing audio for a decade - first dial-in, then Skype, now transitioning to Zoom. Part of the reason is internet bandwidth, esp. for international meetings or when traveling, and part is because there really is no need for video. It's a distraction and real estate claim on a monitor when you are sharing a desktop, taking notes, and IM'ing coworkers for side discussions. Some people put electrical tape over the laptop camera, just in case. But lately there's often that weird guy that always turns on his video, even when wearing a goofy headset with mic.

I will admit that occasionally a female has been present in the room with me, and you know sometimes she might be a little distracting, but not if it's a video meeting, and I'm good at riding the mute button...
