Last spring we had a couple of Robins fly into our house while we were sitting on our deck. Yeah, a big problem. I ended up using a fishing net to get them back outside. Worked great and the birdies didn't seem to be any worse for the wear. Those critters got 100% of the wife's and my attention.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

It could have been worse....it could have been bats, which would have made the poor cat feel useless. If it had been bats, my father would have just had one step:

1. Burn house down from a safe distance or nuke it from orbit, if available.

Occasionally, Starlings would fall (or fly) down the chimney and get in the house. The birds were bad enough, but the spastic cats destroying everything in an effort to snag them was an added bonus. Pellet gun was used to deal with the situation.

I have mice in my old house. They attract black rat snakes, some of which are over 6' long. The mice and snakes mostly restrict their shenanigans to the basement.

I'd rather have the mice and snakes than your birds, as I've never had a meal interrupted by them.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

I worked with a guy who told us the story of starting a fire in the fireplace once, only to have two squirrels come jumping out, then having them running around in the house... while on fire.

So it could always be worse. Wink

Fun games. We have played it with a Northern Flicker, and 2 bats. The wildlife was all evicted without injury.

Why no threats of shotgun use?

This is a gun forum, after all.

Para, if only one shit bomb was dropped consider yourself a lucky guy. The blackbird that the cat carried in must have crapped at least 5 times while we were trying to get it out of the house.
