John has a long moustashe |
I just read on Colorado's "POST Dispatch" (put out by the Peace Officers Standards and Training Board) that in Colorado "law enforcement agencies were only able to fill 73% of the vacancies left by departing peace officers in 2021, resulting in a further reduction in peace officers statewide." When I retired in 2018 my old agency had 18 Patrol Deputies. There was a recent news story where the Sheriff had to cut out night shift as there now are only 8 Patrol Deputies to cover a county of 2200 square miles. Before one of my former guys left and moved out-of-state, he told me there were no applicants. God help those guys that are left; cover was maybe 45 minutes out back when I was there, and we were fully staffed. Another news story was about some mope cooking off rounds in a neighborhood and PCSO had to get a neighboring county to respond as it was right on the county line. Serious enough they had to bring in their SWAT to resolve it. A major wildland fire or a critical incident, both of which were fairly common, are going to be pretty rough to handle now. https://post.colorado.gov/site...0POST%20Dispatch.pdf

CPD has lost many due to retirement, but many are leaving for other departments or just leaving the profession all together. I've never seen it this bad. CPD SIG is correct that we will return to the days of much higher corruption due to the lowering of standards. This city will take almost anyone. Criminal record, no college, or can't pass the psych exam, you're hired. There is so much that is wrong, it'd take quite a bit of time to write it all down. The Working Police..... What does the CPD do for a psych exam? Interview with police psychologist or something else?

Philadelphia is a lost cause, it's not even worth bothering with at this point any more. They keep electing Democrats year in and year out and this is what they get. It's going to become the Detroit of the East Coast in rapid time.

I guess nobody disputes this prediction... Portland activist: ‘This summer is going to be a bloodbath' unfortunately, the proposed solutions differ widely. I'm not sure just "talking about de-escalation" will work, but that's just me. https://www.kptv.com/2022/04/2...-going-be-bloodbath/ .

Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. MMPI for short. https://skybrary.aero/articles...%20clinical%20issues. Then you talk to a Phsrink about any inconsistency in the answers. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. Thanks. Surprised they are using that. The truth is that MMPI and the MBTI aren’t always indicative of how someone handles themselves at work or how well they get the job done. They don’t always indicate a person’s traits when dealing with other personality types, their temperaments or the dispositions faced, based on their tendencies within a group setting, alone or when working with a difficult client. Because neither of them necessarily aligns with the EEOC's Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures, and MMPI is considered a medical test and is not legal for a normal hiring process at all, there is always that chance that a rejected candidate will sue, based on discriminatory statutes and bias. Guess hiring a clinical psychologist is not cost effective.
