This is an excellent PSA for good outcomes from rapid intervention. As guys we sometimes suck at this but have to do better.

The group of docs I work for includes interventional radiologists who deal with strokes daily. Even as a non-physician I’ve learned the key phrase in these instances; Time is brain!

Good on you for getting yourself together. I’m glad you caught this and took care of it.

I wouldn’t worry about the blood thinners. My dad is 83 and has been on Warfarin since 1986. He had/has prostate cancer, bladder cancer, a-fib, but no issues with the blood thinners or additional clots beyond the ones that got him on the meds in the first place.

Well shit. I'm sorry to hear this. With all you have had to go through the pressure must be immeasurable.

Hope you have a complete recovery.

It might be just me but there seems to be an uptick of stroke occurrences recently. Or maybe people are just more willing to talk about them.

I'm impressed you had the mind to googled it.

Here's hoping for a quick and full recovery.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
