On my various handguns ( especially the .22's) they seems to function much smoother if I occasionaly clean and lube them. If I start to get some jams I know it's time to do it again.
I clean my magazines with CLP inside and out. I do wipe the insides out pretty good, but a tiny residue remains and I'm fine with it, even though it's advised not to.
I clean my mags meticulously inside and out, but they don't need any form of lubrication on the inside.

I still have a can of that I purchased years ago. I used it for a time on P220 magazines I serviced for my agency, but I could never tell that it made any difference and stopped. No lube of any sort inside magazines for me now.

My USPSA and Steel Challenge pistols are cleaned before each match. Barrel, slide and frame cleaned and lubed. The inside of the lower is cleaned with Hornady One Shot Gun Cleaner and Lube, the interior of the mags with the same product. A sprayed 2" patch on the end of a 1" round nylon bristle brush cleans the mag inside. I spray a little on the mag spring as well. This is all dry lube, not a single malfunction in 3 pistols in the last 5 years. No oily mess, all carbon is gone. This was the routine shooting cast lead bullets, later with coated.
