My apologies, yours is a simple recipe. For me, mayo is Kryptonite, so once I saw that, I moved on.
I'm with you on that. I don't like mayonnaise. When a lighter spread than mustard is desired on a sandwich, I use Miracle Whip. (flame on)

Bun, preferably Brioche.
Cheese melted onto bacon to secure to pattie.
Bacon cut to length, too much overlap is dumb.
Beef, fattier is better.
Mustard or Mayo, never Ketchup ON a burger. Hot ketchup is nasty.
Maybe Grilled Onions
Bun

I need no salad on my burger.

Put a pickle on my burger and I might stab you with my fork...

Nor do I like Meatloaf on a bun. I'll take a barely held together pattie, please. Medium well. More flat and wide than a big thick one or one with a hump in the middle.

(Steaks Medium Rare, obviously).

Bun, lightly toasted on the grill,
Light ketchup and mustard, burger patty, cheese (melted on in the last minute on the grill), then other toppings (onion slice? Bacon? Onion rings? Pickles? Maybe all of 'em!) a dab of mayo, lettuce, top bun.

Love a good burger!

Burgers, tonight.

Again, simpler is betterer...

Wife had most simple: grill toasted bun, slice of onion or two, added a small bit of lettuce as we had some we didn't want to go to waste.

I tried the mayo on both sides bit and it helped. Slice of onion and bit of lettuce for me, too.

Two burner Weber grill on the small deck off of our kitchen on the upper level. Reaches a max temp of a bit more than 550 degrees by the gauge on the grill. Thawed approx one pound of 80/20 from Kroger as all they had were 3 pound packs, so we froze some. Seasoned with Montreal Steak seasoning.

With this grill, four minutes per side yields a nice, juicy medium rare.

Let them rest as long as possible, but someone is impatient.

They were very juicy and quite tasty.

We'll do this again in a few days Smile

Two simple burgers styles I enjoy, Diner and Elevated.

Diner Burger
Ground Beef, smashed
Onion, red sliced
Lettuce, iceburg
American cheese, 2-slices (melted to dripping)
Bun, enriched white, toasted

Elevated burger My measuring standard is April Bloomfield's now closed (thanks M.Batali Mad) Spotted Pig burger
1/2-pound Ground beef, 75/25 blend of short rib, sirloin, brisket and suet. Heavily salted. Med-Rare
Roquefort cheese (Stilton will also do)
Onion caramelized
Soft but, firm toasted brioche bun. A soft pretzel bun will do also.

Bun
onion
cheese (melted on the grill)
ground sirloin patty
bun

thank gawd someone has come to the rescue!

My own taste for burgers has become better satisfied over the years by simplifying to minimal

minor variation that makes all the difference:
proper non-bun bread
make mine 'grilled onions'
a squirt of yellow mustard
nice cut of Tillamook medium cheddar
80/20 beef
'nother non-bun bottom bread
