The Ohio State University is the official name of my Alma Mater and has been that way since 1878. But a bit of history for those that are interested, THE Ohio State Univesity started in the mid 80s as a marketing decision to get away from just the OSU monikor because as was mentioned before, there are three "OSU" schools.

As a student and an alum, we have always said "The" with a little irreverence. It is funny and something we can all make fun of without anyone getting their panties in a bunch.

As far as TTUN is concerned the Record this Century is not close.
Tressel 9-1
Fickell 0-1
Meyer 7-0
Day 1-4

2020 the chicken wolverines refused to play.

Most Buckeyes will argue 3 of those losses came against the cheaters. That remains to be seen but I am sure most reasonable people think Harbaugh is a weasle and cheater.

This year, just bad coaching.

Day redeemed himself in the last 4 games. I guess the active coach with the highest winning percentage is fallible.

All that said, did you see how my Buckeyes trounced the competition in the playoffs? It reminded me of how DJT spanked the witch.

Once again, Jan 20, 2025 was historically great.

Do, Or do not. There is no try.

“The U” dates from the 1990’s onwards, there have been even so many NFL players from Miami that at one point the running joke was that the only university producing top talent was “the U”.

Yes, I thought you said you were done the last time you tried the “amount of titles” line though.

For fucks sake don’t tell me a 3rd time in your response to this…

10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

The Wall Street Journal had a short satirical opinion. The title was something along the lines of Michigan fans hoping that a meteor would strike the National Championship game wiping out both OSU and Notre Dame. Desmond Howard would be ecstatic.

I really don’t follow college football except the Texas UT Longhorns and their hopes went out the window. I then hoped Ohio would win and glad they did. I only have a distaste for Notre Dame due to the worst boss I ever had in my entire life graduated from there. He was so stinking proud he went there. There was never a conversation of any topic you could have that he somehow didn’t include how he went to Notre Dame. Since he is one of a very select people in life I can say I can’t stand and don’t care about, he ruined that college name for me. I imagine it is a great school, but he was an immense asshole! I think my blood pressure just went up thinking about him, but went back down thinking of his disappointment when they lost.

I tell people that I never attended tOSU but I was at a state university in Ohio (Toledo). Growing up in northern Ohio I have rooted for the Bucs for the last 50+ years. After they blew a big lead to Georgia in the Semifinal game a few years ago I told a friend, half jokingly, that I was kind of bummed out because they might not win the championship again in my lifetime. It was disappointing to say the least that they blew the Michigan game AGAIN this year. We watched the game in a household full of UM grads, fortunately they were gracious winners.

I had about given up on them and it was great to see them them back into the CFP and win it all like they did 10 years ago. So Monday was a great day indeed.

Otto Sig : Who pissed in your corn flakes? I am DAMN proud of THE Ohio State University Buckeyes.
I only was engaging in what I thought was some good natured banter. For Fucks sake man where is your sense of humor. I did not attack you or Auburn personally or directly. Stated only the facts that you can't seem to accept.

That’s because those were the only two “teams” Indy played this year Big Grin

Taken in the good-natured spirit in which it was delivered.

Yes, the schedule was favorable for IU this year, #67 in SOS. The OSU had a SOS at #23 and NDU at #57.

So we were in the same neighborhood as the Irish.

Michigan, Mississippi State, UCLA, Kentucky and Tator’s Purdue Boilermakers had the highest SOS.
