Thanks to several members here my wife and I have developed a taste for Scotch.
My question is how do you like to drink it.
Do you like it neat, over ice, with a little water or with seltzer.
So far what I have learned, is to me it depends on the scotch.
Single malts I like neat in Glencairn Whisky Glass. Blends I like with a little water or over one ice cube.
I have also been experimenting in a rocks glass with a ice and splash of seltzer.
How do you like it? Give me some new ideas or any recipes I should try.

I prefer mine to be cooler in temperature than room temp, the old adage that room temp is best doesn't take into account that it's a lot cooler in Northern Scotland than Central Florida Big Grin

Single malts perhaps a cube or two, or the iced up stones I was given that keep in the freezer.

Neat or maybe with an ice cube or two to cool it down and open it up.

Got me a bottle of victory scotch for the time this state's dipshit in charge is overruled about our freedoms.

Started with a little water and ice.

Then just ice.

Then neat for good stuff.

Average brands and I still prefer one cube of ice.

In my younger days I had a friend who worked in the cryogenics lab.

He would freeze trays of gin and Scotch and bring the cubes to parties.

That way,the drinks would be kept cold without diluting.

To be honest 'craigcpa', that picture could be bourbon because I drink both the same way. I just pulled it out of my pic folder.

I prefer higher proof expressions with some ice, generally in an 8oz mason jar.

I have Glencarin glasses too but rarely bother.

That said, I vastly prefer Rye and Bourbon.

Iodine and Peat flavors can fuck right off.

Inexpensive blends: on rocks
Better brands and single malts: straight up

Never got into water or soda.

While in college, I took a liking to Chivas Regal.

The beauty was, even though I was not 21, I never got carded. I guess they figured no one under 21 would even buy Scotch.

I always had my Chivas on ice.

On a side note: went in to Total Wine for some restocking but DAMN prices have gone up a bunch.

I always drink scotch neat at room temperature as well as most other liquors. In the summer, I like 100 proof vodka neat from the freezer around zero degrees.

Depends on my mood. Most times, with a tiny bit of filtered water to open things up. If it is a little warm and I want it with a cigar outside, one small ice cube.

Pricing on single malt scotch has increased since late last year when the U.S. imposed tariffs on UK products. I am paying a lot more for Macallan 12 yo compared to past years, easily over 10 bucks more.

I think I've tried scotch two or three times in my life, couldn't stomach it. Gin either.
