Para please csll Mayo for me. I got cut off the phone with 911 and call was dropped for a bad connection. I could not the nonemergency number cause I did not have a pen handy. So call Gulport PD for me asap. You convinced them last time to come. I think Mayo will accept as a patient I can pay cash if needed if they do not take Medicare. The cops kept aking what I wanted. My pants are falling down cause I cannot find my suspenders. blah blah blah.

OP, call 911 again right now. Tell them you need an ambulance. Even if you can't talk, they should be able to geolocate your phone and send somebody out to check. Even if the issue is psychiatric and not medical, once they get you to the hospital they can screen you for the appropriate treatment.

Does anybody have ZSMichael's address that they could call Gulfport PD and request a welfare check?

The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

While I'm in the same state, I have no idea his personal contact info and he's on coast several hours from me. I flagged this post early this morning soon after it was made. I was up for some reason, browsing over coffee.

I did as well, probably several hours after you did. Hopefully Para has contact info, or somebody else here does and sees this.

So he lives on the Mississippi gulf coast?
His post last night mentioned calling the cops on himself and they came over....If someone knows what town the cops should have a record of the call and be asked to visit again for a welfare check.

He mentioned Gulfport, he used to list his location as Biloxi I believe, so that syncs. Especially if he's between the two (12 miles total).

Police and EMS went to his house, checked him out, and left. The police are limited in their ability to respond in situations such as this. If ZSMICHAEL wants to commit himself, I assume he knows the necessary steps to initiate the process, since he is a retired mental healthcare professional. Since EMS left without taking any action, I assume he wants to just stay home.

Concerning thread to start…..cry for help but as Para said….PD and EMS were there, evaluated and no action taken. Too many variables in these situations and with limited info it’s really hard to say what’s actually going on…..he sounds desperate and confused…

Doesn’t seem well, couple of his other posts are pretty out there too. Unfortunately doesn’t sound like he’s willing to take the help he’s asking for. Hopefully just a temporary thing.

Could be any number of things.

Mental health episode
Alcohol
Low blood sugar
Infection/illness triggering mood/mental changes
Etc.

He's apparently 74. My mother is around the same age. She has developed what's effectively geriatric bipolar, which can come on as a result of old age. This reminds me a lot of her episodes. Hers typically manifest as periods of hyperactive mania every month or two, marked by semi-incoherent thoughts, muddled-up memories, and rapid rambling speech. Especially prone to triggering when she has a UTI or other infection. They usually last for 12-72 hours, then back to mostly normal.

I hope he's able to access whatever help he needs, and is willing to accept it.

Thanks for following up, Para. If his situation doesn't meet the criteria for involuntary commitment, then it's up to him to make his own decision about how he seeks help. At least he's had the opportunity.
