Companies get scored on ESG. More woke = better score. Blackrock has been pushing it big time. Lots of theories out there about what is behind all this, but somehow there are powerful forces pushing companies to conform. Boards of Directors are being pressured to institute all manner of woke leftism. You'll see the term "stakeholders" used rather than "stockholders", which is the indication someone is trying to force a company to consider other than the interests of the owners. Keeping stock prices up and access to credit open are critical to corporate survival. ESG score is a factor. | |||
