The kid's doing alright. She dropped a few points today and dropped from 15th to 20th. Mostly I think it's not being used to the heat and humidity.

Not upset about her score just upset about her attitude. She is just a swirling pit of negativity. Usually all 4 archers on a bale will work together, call, score and pull arrows. Not her today; walk up to the bale, call her arrows, pull them and walk away.

I'm not sure what we're going to do, but this attitude cannot continue. She may be finding herself packing her bow back in the case and preparing for a plane ride home rather than shooting eliminations tomorrow.

Photo progression of her shot.

My daughter can deflate your daughter's soccer ball.

You both are a great team and a wonderful inspiration. Everyone has a bad day, each experience lends itself to another lesson learned.

I say, take her out for a nice malted milk shake. I miss doing that with my Dad...seemed to help get me back on track often as i was growing up. A chance to cool down, talk and bond.

That doesn't sound like the Maya we've been fortunate to read about these past years. Heat/humidity, something going on between her and the other competitors, teen angst? I sure hope she gets it sorted before tomorrow. Good luck in understanding where this is coming from, and continued best wishes for Maya.

She’s an ambulatory Petri dish of young teenage hormones, fighting for balance. It’s hot and uncomfortable and Lord knows what’s running through her head.

Choc shake time.

As long as she is having fun, and puts in the work, that's all you can desire.

The day it stops being fun...

Having been there I’m gonna agree. Saw your Day 4 thread where you said you didn’t even go?

She seems very well grounded so no need for you to figure out where this is coming from. She’s awesome, but don’t hold on too tight to your dreams dad. Wink

I like the chocolate shake idea.
The humidity in the mid Atlantic is terrible this time of year...
