This story continues to get better and better each day. I wanna know more about her historics, when does the Spanish and Mexican press sink their teeth into this?

Baldwin being Baldwin was oblivious to it all, blinded by his own ego, all that mattered is he's married-in to some hot, wealthy Boston-tail, she gets to hangout with a celebrity with NYC connections and both knew that multiple bedrooms partners is apart of the deal.

Because schadenfreude.

She's already special, but had to be just that little bit more special. Upper middle class / borderline rich suburban Boston family, finest high schools, top tier college, preternaturally pretty, married to a significant celebrity, and now legitimately rich.

All that's not enough. There has to be more to further set her apart, even from her NY peers. And then, poof! the mystery is gone. She's still pretty, she's still rich, she's still A-listing it around NY, but everyone knows she's a fraud, and has been for years.

Americans generally look up to success, and they don't decry someone for being lucky.

But we hate a fraud.

Other than that, no one gives a damn, except for the fact that it's good for a laugh at the end of a shitty year.

Odd being anti American, ashamed of our history and considers herself “woke”. Why would she align herself as Spanish? Considering Cortez was a conquistador, plunderer, and wiped out the Aztecs. Spain is no model of civility.

I'm not sure liberals are much offended these days if one of their idols is fraudulent. Comes with the territory.

Accent gone? I don’t know any Spanish women, best I can do is queue up Ricardo Montablan or Desi Arnez to get close.

If the whitest of white women like Elizabeth Warren can make book on being a "native American" for decades and accept all the special treatment, and then NOT be held accountable then pretty much anything goes. Too bad Native Americans don't have the advocacy groups to shame her into non-existence.

It goes to the anti-white social justice woke theory of oppression that it is "better" to be something other than white. Except people like that Twitter feed earlier are showing how stupid they are saying she was "LARPing as a Latina".

Spaniards aren't Latins, they are white Europeans. The native people of Mexico, Central America, and South America are Latins, which means they are the same genetic stock as Native Americans, except they are not from the USA and get no benefit from being "Native".

Many Latins are mixed to various degrees with Spanish, Portuguese, and other European ethnicities. And there is some African mixing as well.

The creation of the "Hispanic" ethnicity to prevent discrimination against Latinos (native people) centered on Language because "Native American" was already used and the Spanish language is common to all of Latin America except for Brazil. But it also includes white European Spaniards which was not really the intent.

That the woke left is too stupid to even understand this is amusing and somewhat expected.

This reminds me of the Seinfeld Episode where Elaine and her curly headed boyfriend were admiring their "interracial" relationship until they realized that she was not hispanic and he was not black and they were both white. And with disappointment they shrugged and decided to go shopping at The Gap.

Latinos are the progeny of Spanish conquistadors like Cortez and the women they didn’t massacre. So invasion and conquest is in their heritage if citizens of the United States have it in our heritage.

Umm no.

There are Latinos who are 100% indigenous, many who are very mixed (indigenous American, African and European), and tens of millions who have zero or near zero indigenous heritage.

Italians, Irish, Germans, French, Scandinavians, British, Spanish and Portuguese all immigrated into Latin America as well as North America.

For example, my family traces back to the 1530’s, and we are ethnically European (96%+ via DNA). So, a very very tiny percentage of people in Latin America might trace back in the way you describe, but that would be like saying everyone in the US traces back from John Smith and his boys grabbing all the women from Pocahontas’ tribe Big Grin.

And the first governor of Cuba, Conquistador Diego Velasquez de Cuellar (distant ancestor of my ex wife) brought a large group of slaves from Africa in 1520. It was the Spanish that introduced African slavery to the Americas, not the British and Dutch settlers of what became the United States. But the 1619 project is trying to change this bit of history.

The Spanish committed true genocide of the Aztecs, Mayans, and Incans. But then those civilizations weren't exactly non-violent either.

Don't forget the Japanese. They've been in Mexico for hundreds of years, they're in Brazil in significant numbers, and Alberto Fujimori, former President of Peru, was the descendant of people who were part of a couple of waves of immigration from Japan in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

And never mind the ethnic melting pot Spain was all the way from the days of the Roman Empire to the closing phases of la Reconquista.

My apologies! How could I forget, the Japanese (and to a lesser degree, Chinese) immigration waves. There’s about 1.5 million Japanese Brazilians alone.
