Savor the limelight
| ^Same. Good luck trying to get a hose in there to syphon gas. I’ve tried and got maybe a gallon. These days, it’s faster to put a drain pan under the vehicle and drill a hole in the tank. |

| My car has a regular cap but my truck doesn't have one at all either, both have interior releases for the filler doors though. Theft really becomes a problem when there are shortages, so far we "only" have high prices.

I don’t know. I needed gas for the jet ski and the local station was out. Rather than driving 25 miles to the next nearest station, I figured I try to get some out of the boat then the car. Neither worked. I tried both the hard, PE tubing and soft, PVC tubing. They just kept getting jammed. |

To all of you who are serving or have served our country, Thank You

| LOL Many of the gas thieves around here just drill a hole in the plastic gas tank with their stolen cordless drill these days. |

Do No Harm, Do Know Harm
| Don’t all cars have anti-syphon valves now? Everything I read about references the drilling of holes in the tank.

| My police unit does not have a cap. The door is the lid. It is not lockable. With evaporative emissions control, the sealing of the inlet is critical. I use OEM caps and replace them to avoid leaks over time.

| Filled my F150 yesterday for $94… it’s got no lid. I back the truck into the driveway where it’s under a camera…god help anyone I catch stealing from me. Haven’t heard of any gas thefts here in Temple, but I remember when obummer was in office and gas was at $4/gallon…we had a bunch of thefts from the gas stations around Wilson. They’d bring a trailer with those plastic cubes farmers use, and a battery powered pump and siphon thousands of gallons in a few minutes. After the first one got hit, the stations out at I95 paid off duty officer to sit there overnight.

Bookers Bourbon and a good cigar

| My 2019 Chevy Colorado does not have a gas cap OR locking filler door. My 2021 Volvo has a locked filler door when the doors are locked.

Caught in a loop
| My car came with a little locking cover for the capless fuel fill spout. I don't care about potential theft; with the BOSS I'm more worried about jealous assholes dumping random junk into my tank. Honestly if they're going to steal the fuel they're probably going to jack it up and drill a hole in the tank anyway. Way faster.

| Locking caps are a thing of the past. They are now cutting/drilling the plastic fuel tank and taking the gas. In my neighborhood, they are drilling pick up truck tanks and taking up to $200 worth of gas. Good times ahead. |

| My truck you have to hit a switch on the interior for the door to open. They’d have to drill the metal door so fuck em. Daily driver is electric and the charging ports it’s the same thing. Door, metal, have to unlock it from the inside. These days I just don’t leave my vehicles unattended for long. Work, we have security gamers and you have to badge into the garage. So no worries there. The gym, I park in a certain place where it’s never going to happen. Any place else, like groceries, etc, I’m not parked long enough. 10 minutes. House I have cameras and motion detection set up around the vehicles, as well as app based alarms. I live by Gunny’s words in FMJ talking to Pyle or bitching about Pyle not having his foot locker locked. If it weren’t for idiots like him there’d be no thievery in this world.
