Engine note sounds very Euro. Sounds amazing. Going to be big $$$ I'm sure. Then, even more for the ZR1, and crazy $$$ if the Zora tops the ZR1 on the Vette totem pole. The Enemy's gate is down. | |||

I recall a screenshot of the Vette planning & the top tier Vettes would have hybrid assist. Can't remember if that was just the Zora, or if that included the ZR1 as well. Not a fan of the FPC sound at anything other than full throttle, then it sounds awesome. I hate the one in the Mustang as well. I much prefer large cubic inch pushrods when driving around on the street. If I was on the track though sign me up. | |||

I really might be interested in a C8 Corvette at some point in the future. I loved driving the Ford GT350 around the track at Lime Rock Park and fell in love with the sound of the flat plane crank. The interior on the C8 still lags German and Japanese luxury makers but it's a definite improvement over the C7. A flat plan crank, mid engine, C8 with a dual clutch and a decent interior might convince me to spend 6 figures on something from an American manufacturer. I had a 30-35 minute ride in a '21 C8 this weekend. Torch Red hard top convertible with the Z51 suspension package. My friend who bought the car ordered it 7 months ago and just took delivery. I didn't get to drive but I was really impressed with the mid engine car. I have had 6 Vettes and still own a C6Z06, the interior is miles ahead of the previous cars and the ride is very nice for a sports car. Lots of leg room and seats that hold you in place, which has always been a complaint in the prior Vettes. You could comfortable daily drive the C8. As far as reliability, sounds like there are some teething problems but expected with an all new high tech design. JEREMIAH 33:3 | |||

When discussing the flat plane crank the video above states one disadvantage "at least traditionally," is "reduced engine life". They never elaborate on that point. Do we expect a flat plane crank to impact engine life in the new vette, or is it somehow non-traditional? IMO flat plane V8's sound like a 4 cylinder revving a bit higher. If it's going to sound like a 4 banger I prefer the one in my Fiesta ST, driven gently it will get 35 mpg in the City. I've stopped counting. | |||
