Second the recommendation for the Redbreast 12 cask strength version if you can push your dollar limit a bit. I find it noticeably better than the non-cask 12 which is saying something considering the regular 12 is excellent. Have an unopened bottle of Batch B1/21 (112.6 proof) in the cabinet right now.

Another for tullamore dew.

Very smooth, and surprisingly not expensive…it’s $28 a bottle at SPECS with a military discount.

Personally, I like Glendalough. About $42… has a nice citrus orange zing to it. Goes down very easily… too easily on some nights!

my daily is Jameson

for sipping is Redbreast

Jameson has a number of small batch specialty they make periodically. Coopers Croze is very good, its 1 of 3 I've been able to find so far... not inexpensive

As am I.

Jameson Stout is another one I like quite a bit that is easy on the wallet. It’s Jameson Irish Whiskey aged in stout barrels. They have an IPA too but the stout is my favorite.

yuge Jameson fan,

the Stout is very tasty,

when I tried the IPA, I did not really notice any big or even much of a subtle difference,

A lot of good recommendations already, particularly the Redbreast. For a more middle of the road price point, I like John Powers and Bushmills Redbush. Redbush is aged in sherry casks. It’s quite nice.

+1

This and this. I have my first bottle and love it. I am Irish as well. The older Readbreast is a lot more money and better, but the 12 is right in the middle of your budget.

At the rate of consumption described, it would be better to buy a smaller bottle of a less expensive offering than Redbreast. Your smaller bottle will be a better match to your habit. Its a waste of money to buy a Redbreast and such as the components of flavor will diffuse out unless you will use an inert gas preservation. Or drink it fast.

I recommend the 375 ml size of Black Bush, Jameson Stout, or Tullamore Dew.

To expand on the options, beyond the irish, Lustau Brandy de Jerez is quite nice and only about $25.

My go to reasonably priced whiskey is the Redbreast 12 but I have recently enjoyed some West Cork single malt Calvados cask finished Whiskey.

My favorite is the Bushmills Single Malt 16 yr but it has got crazy expensive lately ~ was in the $80's but now $125-ish. Frown
Next favorite is Yellowspot now in the $90's but Greenspot is much better priced but I prefer the taste of Yellowspot.
Of course all the Redbreast are great too.
I have Redbreast Listau on my shelf now but have a fondness for Redbreast 12 Cast Strength and Redbreast 12 regular strength.

All good! Cool

Costco doesn’t carry the same spirits at all locations, but the one we frequent has Redbreast 12 for a good price; you might take a look.

In Ireland it’s “Gemsen.” Wink

This is my favorite as well. I can order it from the PA liquor stores for $100 a bottle, if I go to TotalWine in DE it's $125.

Have had the 21 year Bushmills which was good too but I don't think more than double the price of the 16 year is justified though.

Redbreast is definitely my favorite, but you are looking for something less expensive, so you might check out '2 Gingers'. Pretty good Irish Whiskey for the money.
