I’ve got about 9 more years until I can go, but will likely stay a little longer, or maybe leave government service and do something else for a few years. Mostly because I think 50 might be just a hair too young to retire.

I cant do much fishing & shooting as I used to.
On the bright side! when the time comes to take
my pitch fork to DC I'm good to go as long as they
have places to Pee

Congrats, you give a young (ish) man hope. I also work for the .gov and while the money is good, it can crush your soul if you let it. I always like to see folks get out before they are too broken down to enjoy retirement.
Here’s to a long retirement. May you get as many years out of them as they got out of you.
