I know, right?! Heart of Glass popped up on my YouTube feed and I decided to see any news whether she was still performing. That's how I found out how old she is. And she's not touring because she doesn't want to go without the rest of the band since a couple of them died.

She made herself look sexy singing that song while fully clothed. Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus covered that same song but belting it out half-naked in a revealing body suit. I was not impressed; I switched to another video after watching it 15 times. I wanted to be sure I was being objective and not simply biased.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

In fact yesterday. My wife ordered a coffee at Starbucks and I went inside the store to get it for her. When I was leaving and large, young woman was behind me. I held the door for her, she frowned and managed a dour "Thank you". I was taught to be a gentleman, to graciously accept help and to always say "Thank you". I will continue to do so. Sad that manners are dying.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

They only die if we let them. Wink
Thank you for not contributing to the death of good manners.

My wife who is pretty much a knockout herself, has often said ( borrowing a line from the movie tequila sunrise) getting upset at your man for looking at a pretty lady is like blaming a compass for pointing north

Many years ago now, I was walking into the post office to grab my mail (P.O. Box). Like many post offices, ours had those big heavy glass doors. As I always do when I go through a door, I glanced behind me to see if anyone was coming. That day I noticed a youngish woman a few steps back and held the door for her. Her response? "Typical man. I'm perfectly capable of opening my own door". I let go of that big heavy glass door and she walked right into it. I turned, smiled, and went about my day.

I hold the door as a courtesy for pretty much everyone. Female/ male doesn’t matter

I'll hold the door open for anyone. Then I'll say you're welcome whether they say thank you or not.
Many years ago, on a first date I opened the car door for a girl. She said she was perfectly capable of opening her own door. I never opened her d Smile oor again, but that friendship got VERY interesting over the years. Still friends but not quite like it was for a while.
Now back to the original point of this thread. A few months back I had a follow up appointment with who I refer to as my smoking hot PA. I was wearing a light sea foam green HUK fishing shirt. When she came in, she looked at me and said "that shirt looks really good on you". Smile
That made my day.
Then last week at the dentist the techs were referencing the new color of their bibs, which was very similar to the shirt. I told one of the techs the story and she looked at me and smiled and said "it does make your eyes pop". Smile She was young and very pretty too.
I'm sure they're just being nice to and old fart.

Being nice to an old fart ( doesn’t take any more effort than being a jerk really) is something I appreciate as I am becoming an old fart myself

Hey, guys.
Just a few minutes ago a very lovely young lady with long auburn hair told me I looked very handsome.
I do great with 8 year old granddaughters and old ladies.
