Recommendations please. Do you also purchase a separate screen protector in addition to the case?

Lots of good choices.

I’m a repeat buyer of UAG cases and Tech Armor screen protector (ballistic glass). I drop my phone with confidence.

Just bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max over Christmas. I have the Nomad portfolio case: https://nomadgoods.com/product...en-iphone-16-pro-max

I like it very much. I wanted something to cover the screen so it is coming on every time it detects movement. I hated that in my old iPhone 11. I do have a screen protector, and my wife fond a perfect protector for the cameras, but I don't have a link. Only thing I mis is a kickstand.

I like Supcase. UAG also makes good cases but are a bit more pricey. A little trick I found for some cases that are a little slick is to stipple the edges with a soldering iron. I also recommend a protective glass screen. The most recent ones I’ve tried are MRGLAS at Amazon. They come individually packaged in their own applicator jig to make install easy.

I highly recommend you add an Ohsnap phone grip. (Aslo available at Best Buy). You can Mag Safe charge through it and it’s very thin when not being used as a grip.

I bought this one for my iPhone 16 Pro:
https://a.co/d/aIJYUqF

It clips securely on my belt. The clip swivels through 360° with positive click stops at 15° intervals. The inner part of the case never comes off my iPhone – provide drop protection and a secure grip. With the case clipped on my belt I can easily slide the iPhone out for use. Very compact case.

I had a similar case for my iPhone 12 Pro. When I took the 12 back to T-Mobile to trade it in they gave it the eagle eye, but couldn’t find the least blemish, so I got full trade-in credit. So, yeah, good protection.

Provides direct access to all of the iPhone’s physical controls. Has a “kick stand” that keeps the phone upright for viewing – landscape or portrait. I didn’t like the very bulky Otter Box.

I never use a screen protector, but again, full trade-in credit for my unblemished iPhone 12.

I use QuadLock. It allows me to attach to bike, motorcycle, car holder, etc. I've gone over the handlebars of the mountain bike and the phone stayed on the mount. Highly recommend.

Screen protector a must.

I don’t have an iPhone 16; I have a 14 Pro Max. Every single iPhone I have ever had, I have bought the most rugged Otterbox protective case and they have never failed me. I also buy the quality glass type screen protector for the phone and my iPad. When I go to trade them in, there is not a single scratch and they look brand new. I even use a good protective watch band for my Apple Watch and a screen protector on it.

If I did have an iPhone 16, then I would buy this Case and I would buy this Screen protector as I like to also put the protective covers over the camera lenses.

Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagFit on my 16, and on my work iPhone (15). Had a Spigen on my previous iPhone (13) too.

I'm a Samsung user, but my daughter uses an iPhone.

The advisor at the Apple Store recommended nothing in their store, but did recommend a case from Caseology.

Unless the case you buy comes with a screen protector...like the Otterbox...always get a separate screen protector.

I use Peak Design and Quad Lock cases. Pretty durable so far.
Main use for me is the ability to mount to bike handlebars.

I don't use screen protectors. I've had iphones since the very first one and have never cracked a screen yet.

I’ve had an iPhone X, an iPhone 12 Pro, and now an iPhone 16 Pro. I’ve never had a screen protector, and never had screen damage.

I don't know about the 16 but if Otterbox still has the lifetime warranty they will replace it no problem.

I've had several but seem to like the Speck cases.

OP, what specific model of iPhone do you have?

Spigen with separate glass cover is why I buy. I use OnePlus phones and they haven't had one for the last two phones unfortunately. The glass over the last few years had really improved. There's no need to encase the phone in an inch of rubber any longer unless you are a construction worker or similar high risk activities.
