They don't carry this at our local Home Depot but they do have it in stock in the next city up the road. I will go look at these today.

So they stuck the dryer vent in the same cavity as the water drain outlet? Eek Doesn't look like much room to work around.

It's a separate insert, down behind the dryer. It vents the dryer up through the wall and across the ceiling to the outside of the house.

The worst part, at our last house, was that the wall insert wasn't big enough to fit the oval to round adapter into. Had to take the tough/swearing route & massage the round flex hose onto the oval outlet. Took a while since the flex hose kept tearing.

I went out at lunchtime and picked up one like Excam_Man linked to. They didn't have that brand but they had another one just like it. The reviews on it are encouraging so I will know tonight if we have success. This is what I got: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Eve...pter-R2OHD/300456306

This one has the oval part offset from the round so that the round sticks out away from the insert.

Yep, I tried a 90* adapter, but it was too tall for the opening, which was also angled at the bottom. Would've been impossible.

Hope it work for you. Luckily, in our new house, it worked just fine.

Well, I got it home and it was a perfect fit. Took me less than 5 minutes to hook it up. One thing I have learned from this is that Google can be finicky about what you search for. I measured the oval and searched for 5" oval to 4" round adapter. This product didn't come up. I also tried oval to round adapter and didn't see it. I guess you have to say 4" round to oval adapter.

Anyway, success has been achieved! Thanks, guys.
