I worked with Sports Illustrated for almost 20 years as a freelance photo assistant. My favorite autographed baseballs are from Cal Ripken and Nolan Ryan.

My prized baseball has Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, and Steve Avery signatures. I got the latter two in person and the first was obtained by a friend of my father’s who worked at a car dealership here in Atlanta and sold a car to Tom. Another friend of my father’s who was a high-end custom millworker and he put shutters and millwork in big fancy houses. He took a few of us along to meet Smoltz and Avery. I was about 11 or 12 and this was 1993 or 94, the height of Braves dominance so meeting these guys at that point in my life was pretty awesome. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

I have an early 70’s program (Wilber Wood on the cover) from an Oakland A’s vs. Chicago White Sox game. It was signed by Reggie Jackson, Phil Garner and Manny Trillo.
