Last Sunday it was about $2.48 or so a gallon locally. We traveled northeast about an hour to another county and saw $2.14 a gallon. You can blame part of it on big oil and you'd be right. But due to what I see traveling in a 3 county area I suspect local distributors and station operators also connive to fix prices. Anyone else this would be price fixing and the state attorney general would be one them like flies. But if it impacts their political contributions they receive...it's hands off.

Prices have fallen over 30 cents in the last couple of weeks or so. It could potentially go below $2 if it continues that trend. (As of yesterday, the last time I looked, $2.19.)

Still $2.99 here in Wickenburg, at least last week when I filled up. We are usually at the tail end of the line for seeing reductions in gas prices.

ETA, I noticed yesterday it had dropped to $2.96. Whoopee.

Fill up now, OPEC meets next week. WSJ has an article today stating OPEC members will pressure the Saudis bear the brunt of decreased production. Payback for SA INCREASING production as a favor to Trump. Trump recently repaid the favor. For my part, I want oil to rise as I own XOM stock.

Oil's 'Wild Ride' Continues...
Nymex crude oil futures ended Thursday deep into bear market territory 33.1% below its 2018 high of $76.90 per barrel set on Oct. 3. Oil traded to its 2018 low of $49.41 Thursday below its "reversion to the mean" for the first time since the week of Dec. 15, 2017.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I read an analysis recently that said a barrel of gasoline was worth less than the barrel of crude that was produced from. Seems we have a gluten of gas.

I did a trip from CO to WI over Thanksgiving week. High was around $3.39 for pure premium 91. Low was around $2.50 for about the same. Surprised Iowa was so much cheaper than WI. What I loved was I can get in my F150 and drive from Denver to Omaha on one tank of gas and then get to where I need in WI on the fill-up...with gas left to drive around. Wished the price of gas would have dropped before but hard to time it.

That's the cheapest I've seen it around town. I just paid $1.93 at Hampton Phillips 66, but saw it for $2.13 in the county. Interesting the variance in the same metropolitan area.
