Used to spend a LOT of time AM / FM DXing. Big Grin
Tweaking outside antennas, monitoring skip conditions, etc.

This in addition to short wave (SWL) and scanner monitoring.

Ironically I found my old Yaesu FRG-7 (with Gilfer mods) could pull stuff in as well as the much more expensive and modern Palstar R30CC or the great portable Sony ICF-SW77, although both of the later's tuning enhancements made things much easier. Smile Good outdoor antennas are the equilizers.

I've been listening to it for several years, have it on right now - listening to an 80's station KFRC

I was listening to a station in Dartmouth NS Q104 - used to listen to it when I was a student at Dal and TUNS. But they took the streaming down.

Radio Garden is a fun diversion for me. Seems I only ever stream 2 radio stations to my Sonos speaker system as background music / noise most all of everyday.

I don't think what I listen to would appeal to a broad membership here. My dogs don't seem to mind though ...

KPUP community radio ... Patagonia, AZ
Cafe del Mar ... Ibiza

The weird thing is that when I'm listening to KPUP, they sometimes have emergency broadcast weather information for the Patagonia, AZ area and for a split second, I glance out the window ... couple of thousand miles away LOL. D'OH

Just tune in via this link http://kpup.rocks/ and was greeted to the Doors and LA Woman. Big Grin

You say you think it would appeal to most here on SigForum... I think you're wrong. Smile

Big Grin ... good one
KPUP's music is pretty diverse throughout the day and depending which volunteer happens to be hosting. But during the day, there's a good share of rock and folk. Later in the evening (usually) it's more relaxing.
Another thing is, not so many ads that it's annoying. It's community radio and the ads are for sponsors. And the music just flows well from one song to the next IMHO
Cafe del Mar is super relaxing and no ads, just occasional reminder I'm listening to Cafe del Mar.

Very ironic that a band named "Wicked Game" has a song named "Chris Isaak!"

KFRC? 610 AM, Dr. Don Rose? just triggered a growing up in the Bay Area memory.

so how exactly are you listening to 1980? rebroadcast of recorded material?
