What an honor to do that. Something she will always remember. As well as her proud parents. Congratulations. I would love to read the essay.

What an amazing and humbling honor to be chosen. Fantastic.

Please add me to the list of those who would love to read her essay, should she permit us.

I hope you get a video too.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

My wife already talked to my daughters principal and is going to get a copy of her essay. I'll type it up and post it once I get it..probably be Saturday as they get home late Friday night.

Also hoping that my wife or someone else, gets a video that I can post. I'll need some help at that point. I can post pics with no problem, but have never attempted to post a video. Be prepared for a question or 3 related to that this weekend....

That would be an ultimate honor. I was there with my Grandson several years ago and was allowed to tape the. Changing of the guard. There's nothing that can ever replace that. It would be awesome if someone could tape it for you, it would be something you would treasure the rest of your days.

I know you must be proud of her. By all means please post her letter here.

A wonderful honor, and particularly wonderful that she appreciates it; clearly a matter of good upbringing.
And you knew you would hear "hurrahs" from us when you posted it here--a compliment to our SigForum friends.
Congratulations!

Awesome congrats to your daughter. They don't mess around with the dress code. Saw a video where a young man was denied the honor because he was wearing tennis shoes.

These are the types of events that blunt the all to many comments about kids and their attitudes today.

I'd bet there are more with this type of mindset then the losers the media is always highlighting.

Well done, Dad!
