I am happy for the opportunity to provide my talents for my country at a national laboratory. I am proud of the work we've done over the years and content to let others carry on. Time for a road trip and my next. Cool

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Go for a hike in the Sandia National Forest, smell the Butterscotch Pine at the top of the trail. Eat half a ton of enchiladas with green sauce, half a ton of enchiladas with red sauce, half a ton of ice cream stuffed sopapillas, half a ton of biscochitos, and sleep for a week.

Oh, snap. Eek He retired from SNL, not LANL. You can tell from his avatar (the Z machine) and the fact that he didn't put whether he has a PhD in his signature. That's like a foreigner mistaking one of us for a Canadian. SNL is by far the superior national lab. Wink

adobesig: what org were you in? Congrats, BTW.

Congrats! You will like it!

I retired from my engineering career at age 70. Until a few months before, the thought of retirement hadn’t entered my mind. Once it did I could scarcely wait.

I have liked it!
