I see some olives that are described as "thrown." What does this mean? Are there grove workers who throw these around? If there are throwers, are there catchers? ![]() הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I googled the term. Thrown olives are sort of dumped or “thrown” into the jar by machine, while placed olives are carefully arranged in the jar by hand so that the pimentos are all facing the glass. In other words, they don't taste any different, but placed olives are more expensive because they look prettier in the jar.

Interesting reply, by Mustang-PaPa. Next time I'm at Publix I'll compare prices, to see what it costs to have your הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Looks like the machine is throwing too hard. A couple of pimentos seem homeless. I learned something new. I never even noticed placed olives. Pitchers and catchers better be referring to baseball, and nothing else. Not olives or congressional staffers. Particularly congressional staffers... Never knew it, and I’ve never seen it. I like olives..enough to buy a jar of each (now that I know what I’m looking for), and run a taste test. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

If you like your food "thrown", then you must stop at Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston,Missouri. They actually do THROW their freshly baked rolls to customers as they come out of the oven. You hold your hand up when you want one and a waiter will throw it to you. Big open dinig area and the rolls get tossed easily 50-75 feet, maybe more. They're usually pretty darn accurate. They call it the "Home of the Throwed Rolls". Pretty darn good home cookin' - well worth stopping by if you're in the area.

Olives are too small and soft for throwing. I prefer apples for greatest impact, tomatoes or peaches (preferably overripe) for a satisfying splatter.

There is a location in Foley, Alabama as well. I was just there this past Saturday. It is a bucket list for any foodie. Beagle lives matter. ______ (\ / @\_____ / ( ) /O / ( )______/ ///_____/
