I'm thinking ribs on the BGE and possibly some beer. Coleslaw, cornbread, and few other sides.

I sing in a barbershop chorus. On the 4th we are gathering at our HOA center to sing a few patriotic songs in 4 part harmony.

I’ll be out of country for the Fourth of July, not by any planning on my part, more by overlooking the year when we booked the trip. I hope that the fireworks are televised at the resort, or maybe some are set off for us tourists. If not, no big deal, as we don’t set them off here in Arizona anymore.

I’m thinking about crashing the party at dsiets. I hear he’s cooking ribs. Big Grin

The 4th has always been my favorite holiday. For no other reason than patriotism I guess. I don’t have parties, I haven’t been to a party in decades, but I always have an A&W root beer float. It’s a tradition I’ve had since my late teens. A Cubs game, something on the grill, and local fireworks usually rounds it out.

I may visit Mount Vernon, send a few rounds downrange, have a Coors or two, smoke a cigar, watch others setting off fireworks nearby.

That said, is it just me or have others thought that this anniversary isn't getting its due attention? I remember 1976; we were getting pumped up for it two years earlier.

Staying home with the critters from Friday noon on. Not only is it amateur night, its amateur night on the weekend.

I have been told that we are participating in a golf cart parade in Isle of Palms, SC and that I’m in charge of decorations which I’ve already bought.
Food is someone else’s department but I’m sure it will be great.

We are supposed to to get an amazing flyover that we’ll be able to see from our deck. Looking forward to it!

Same thing I do on every July 4th. I read the Declaration of Independence, and think about what it means.

Sigmonkey's CUT is appropriate.

For the last 20 years or so I've just stayed at home to console the dog/s. My last boy passed away last year and I haven't found a new one yet, so maybe I'll go and watch the public fireworks show at the golf course. I might throw some ribs on the grill, or at least burgers. I will be going to pick a good bottle of bourbon before then, and plan to toast 250 several times over the weekend.

Our house is all decorated for this big event. Proud to be an AMERICAN. New (bright color) flag up, jelly fish house light set to RED, WHITE and BLUE. American Eagle and American Flag wall projector up at 8PM. All of our lights are on timer to be on at 8PM. Our corner house is ready for the big day. I will just BBQ in the backyard for the family after I get off work from the VA.

I will be serving several briskets, chickens, ribs, sausages, pulled pork and BBQ pit beans. All prepared on the wood fired smoker. We have been freezing much of our fish caught from this spring and will be frying up some bluegill and crappie for appetizers. I already have my anniversary flags flying and other decorations are going up this week. Have plenty of fireworks to play with. One of the neighbors has a floating swim platform he is outfitting with mortars for setting off the fireworks from out on the lake. Looking forward to the event. Lots of food and drink and a chance to meet some new folks.

Dang. I missed my invite.

I am heading to West Palm beach to scuba dive. We have a "dinner" cruise booked to celebrate and watch fireworks from the water.

I have a new patriotic sun shirt. Red White and Blue shark.

That’s awesome…it is America’s 2-50th! The next ‘gun year’ will be in 20 years for the 270th (.270). Any chance to shoot .50’s, especially twin M2’s, should be taken this year!

Sitting on the beach in Maui and holding hands with the wife. If there's a fireworks show cool, if not there's sunsets. Our condo is right across the street from the beach.
