Nature has a way of making me realize my place in the cheme of the universe.

I'm glad you weren't hurt.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Yikes. Glad you are okay. One of my wife’s friends in Round Rock had damage to heir home. There is a stop sign outside their house and it was bent over lying on the ground. Crazy. Have you heard what strength it was?

You’re very lucky.

Back in 97’ with the Jarrell tornado I literally drove with it on my way back from Waco to Cedar Park. Highway kept getting shut down at times it was near the highway. I was in Jarrell when it hit on I-35 parked under an overpass.

That was the most scared I have ever been in my life. You could see nothing and had no clue where the tornado was due to the sheer volume of wind and rain. My truck was rocking bad under the overpass and I actually called my wife to tell her I loved her and may not see her again.

When I got to Cedar Park, the damage was unreal. The collapsed grocery store, train cars turned over on their side, and parking lots with some cars still in their spot while others right night to them were picked up and tossed.

After getting a good look at it, I'm sure it's totaled. 2011, 150K miles.

Front end damage.
Grill is busted out.
Hood is bent.
Bumper has a huge gash.
Tere are big dents in the cab above all 4 doors. Looks like two big tree limbs fell across the top of the cab.
Cracked windshield. Shattered driver's side windows, shattered back glass.
Tail lights are busted.

Every panel on the truck has impact damage. Either big dents or small dings through the paint.
Driver's mirror is shattered.

The adjuster looked at the pictures and said "remove all your personal belongings, we'll pick it up tomorrow". And they did. She said it's almost certainly going to be totaled. I'll find out next week.

I'm way better off than a lot of folks that had home damage, and there is a ton of it.

So I'm out the deductible, and now I have to replace it with another truck. Not sure if you've shopped for 4wd pickups anytime lately, but holy shit.

I need a truck to haul my motorcycle. I have no place to keep a trailer, so I need a long-bed.

Sucks. I was planning on getting another 100K miles out of that truck. It was my dad's truck.
