I can understand both sides of this as well. I just hope it doesn’t turn into a game of ping pong for the sake of the families of our honored vets. If that’s the case just name them ‘Fort Cookie Monster’ and ‘Fort Hot Wheels’, and leave the vets out of it. They fought for our freedom and they do not deserve to be used as political pawns. That’s just petty bullshit.

Exactly. It was Benning before. It’s Benning now.

This is all that matters.

Well, if the woke libtards of the Biden admin hadn't changed the name in the first place, we wouldn't be in this predicament.

I won't apologize...it's been Benning to me and always will be.

FT Benning is and always will be FT Benning to me as well as FT Bragg will always be FT Bragg and the same goes for FT Lee. The names of the bases should have never been changed in the first place especially for the sake of this woke nonsense.

exactly the point

these names were changed by the feds for absolutely zero reason

this is a self-inflicted problem and FJB is 100% responsible, as well as the people that thought this was a great idea

I got mixed feelings about this, Hal Moore is a American hero.

I hope they leave Fort Novosel, alone, you do not get bigger hero than him.

They could have split the baby and called it Ft Benning-Moore...frankly, because Benning will always be Benning...and Moore was an American hero and postured the Army to be forward thinking in the use of helicopters moving infantry (among other things).

That would've been the better choice. Moore is a genuine hero, a true leader the model for which all infantry officers strive to become. Re-renaming this one doesn't sit well with me.

I'd prefer everything be put back as it was. I hope they find a suitable location to name after Hal Moore.

Sometimes I just can't with with y'all. Yes, Lt. General Hal Moore was a significant figure.

However, where is Ft Eisenhower, Ft Patton, Ft Grant or Ft Washington for that matter?

Its been Ft Benning since 1922. The whole point is let's stop re-writing our history good, bad or indifferent. This is our history and regardless we should embrace it.

Or Ft. Rommel, Ft. Homma, Ft. Clinton, or Ft. Prevost? If we should name US Military instillations after people who fought against the United States of America.

It's unfortunate that a deserving hero like Hal Moore got caught up in this nonsense, but that does not justify the renaming of Benning in the first place. The honorable thing to do is put it back like it belongs and find another appropriate way to honor Moore's memory.
