from our National Team.

An extraordinary sportsman and gentleman. An example for all.

Agentina is sad and grateful to tears.

Sorry to hear this, but he's 39 so I'm not really surprised.

Got to see him play in the Copa tournament a few years ago and he is an amazing player.

I don't really follow soccer/football all that closely. But I know Mesi is one of the best of the best. When Argentina was playing, I would make some effort to watch the game -- and Messi.

It's amazing that he's been such a great player for so long

No reason for him to continue with WC competitions.

He’s one of the greatest players ever.

Amazing career for Argentina. Took the team to within 1 point of winning the World Cup again this year.

I looked up to see if he was still playing for Miami and holy shit he scored 4 goals yesterday. He is still dominant at the MLS level.

O-0 any idea if he will move back to Argentina when he retires for good? He left for Spain when was 13 or so to play soccer and he's been gone so long I wonder if he feels at home in Argentina. I wonder if he will stay in Miami, or go back to Spain or Argentina or travel back and forth.
