Prepared for the Worst, Providing the Best |
I live in a rural area in the northern part of the state...about halfway (an hour either way) between Ft. Wayne and South Bend. Lots of corn, soybeans, and Amish around here. French Lick is about 4.5 hours from here, in a very different part of the state. It's hilly and wooded down there...up here it's flat as a pancake and wide open, but we do have a lot of nice spring-fed lakes full of fish.

Hasn't really been good in years, but all lanes on both decks are running. Went out to eat and on the way home vehicles even in the north bound lanes were running at highway speed. With no rain or snow, that means maybe 75. Another accident waiting to happen. Unhappy ammo seeker

I remember when this same thing happened in Harrisburg several years ago on the I-81 ramp with US-22/322. Diesel tanker truck, I believe. Was coming up 81 N at a non-rush hour time of day and ended up in a 10+ mile long traffic jam. Thankfully there are enough exits that I was able to get off and make it to my destination. The highway was months in repair and one of the bridges across the river was 1-way traffic for like half a year. Glad I didn't live in the area and have to deal with that crap. Or the mess on the Brent Spence, for that matter! What a shitty bridge that was at the best of times. ---------------------------- Chuck Norris put the laughter in "manslaughter" Educating the youth of America, one declension at a time.
