My primary goal is to maximize dimensions within the allowable size and the lightest vs durable consideration. Travel Pro meets this for me. Plus my OCD dictates that I have two complete sets of large, medium, and carry on. And I only need to replace the carry ons, so that weighed heavily towards Travel Pro. Second to that is value / dollar spent. B&R has a higher premium for the name and a premium for the lifetime warranty. And, mind you, I didn’t mind paying for the premium for Tumi even when they stopped their lifetime warranty. I might have looked at Rimowa but I don’t remember why I never bought one. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Cool. Thanks. I never cared for the Tumi's. The B&R I think makes sense (lifetime warranty) if I were younger (20-30 something). But at this stage in my life, the suitcase will probably outlive my years of travelling and so paying a premium for the lifetime warranty may not be, well, warranted. So, TP over B&R for you was mostly about balancing size/weight/durability across multiple suitcase sizes. And then value. Although I can appreciate the B&R quality (likewise the dramatically more expensive Rimowa), perhaps what's best for me at my age bears more consideration of the TravelPro. I routinely check Dave's Deals on the Saddleback Leather website. They will discount some pieces on occasion. Usually, it is because they are flawed in some way. I have a briefcase that has some interesting scarring, but otherwise it is perfect. If they are closing out a product, usually it will appear there as a sale.

ruger357, I’ve been carrying an AER brand, City Pack Pro in XPac material. It is a backpack, meant for under-seat airline, personal bag sized compatible carry. I have been flying short, two or three day trips quite a bit this past twelve months and this bag allows me to throw it on my back and pick up the pace thru Atlanta airport’s terminals to catch my connecting flight if I need to. Fits perfectly under the seat in front of me so I can grab and go. I like the XPac material and the bright orange lining so I can see what’s inside. AER makes quite a few bags in different sizes to suit your needs. Their XPac line is very durable, and you suggested maybe a different high end material may interest you, this may fit your needs. $150-$300 range. I posted a link to the bag I have, there is now an updated version 2, amongst many other bags… https://aersf.com/collections/...pro-x-pac?country=US ............ ~ take advantage of today, & have no regrets ............ Another thumbs up for Travelpro. We have several pieces that have seen abuse, they wear well. Price is right and the product is incredibly durable.
