It appears that Pre-Emption would trump that Universal Citation: CO Rev Stat § 29-11.7-103 (2016) A local government may not enact an ordinance, regulation, or other law that prohibits the sale, purchase, or possession of a firearm that a person may lawfully sell, purchase, or possess under state or federal law. As much as I disagree with this move by Aspen, it pales in comparison to the draconian anti-gun laws that Boulder passed a couple years ago. Given that this is Aspen/ Pitkin County I'm surprised that ordinances like this weren't enacted years ago. At least this prohibition is temporary, although I fully expect that the Democrat controlled municipality will use this occasion to set precedent and move to make it permanent. | |||
