I'm an old farm boy and I've put many animals out for one reason or another.
I got tired of living with it. Moved to the city I get the vets to do the pets if needed.
A skunk .... I'd use my rifle at a safe distance.
How'd you get rid of him without getting the stink on you ?

A skunk's vision is so bad that you can shoot them from a safe distance without risking getting sprayed. I did it myself several times, once as close as about 7 feet from one in a Hav-A-Heart trap. Let them lie there for a while to see if the spray leaks out, then shovel them into a bag and dump them, throw them in an open farm field if accessible, or bury them.

walk up to them slowly making as little noise as possible and you can get quite close, this one wasn’t able to spray anyway with it’s broken spine so it was easy....scooted him into the bushes for the coyotes that I’ve been seeing lately in the yard.
