First off, I hope that it hurts. I hope that fucking shit bag was in alot of pain before going into comma. If he does live I hope that he is excruciating pain the rest of his worthless life. It would be nice if he succumbs from his injuries, and dies. It looked to me the Snubby revolver lady landed at least 3 rounds, and maybe 4. The Tomcat (?) looked like 3 so a total of maybe 7 rounds into the shitbird. I'm glad that it worked out for them, but I do believe that they need to upgrade to better weapons, even if it's still just a .380 ACP, but with a larger magazine capacity. As the Snubby revolver lady was empty, and either didn't know it, or had no reload for it and really no time and most likely didn't have the skills ( the reason I'm not a big revolver fan ) to reload fast enough before he came back. They most likely was using the cheapest ammo, "ball" and lead round nose. If the revolver had hollow points, again probably something from Walmart. They needed a plan, it looked like they were just "winging it". After shitbird ran out, one should have been covering the door while the other called for police and reloaded, the once they were back up the other reloads. This and alot of other robbery videos show why having higher capacity weapons are a benefit. Even the best trained have a hard time keeping up with rounds fired. Luckily these two brave women are in Oklahoma, if this was Boston they’d be wearing cuffs. Once he is unarmed our Attorney General would see the deadly threat as over. I'm not ready to suggest the women in this event need to change weapons. I'm certain they don't need more powerful and maybe uncontrollable ones. The thing we need to do is understand we need to view this from their perspective and abilities. No matter what us monday morning quarterbacks say, its their abilities we need to keep in view. Giving them a 1911 or model 29 they're terrified of using sure won't help. I'm not even going to suggest we discard the use of the current weapons. What I'd be happier with is if each of them had a 2nd gun of the exact same feel. Also keep in mind they did pretty darn good. The shitbag is on life support and hopefully in pain. They women probably have some emotional problems related to shooting the animal. They choose to do that instead of giving up their money or dying. I'd feel better, of course, had they just punched a few more drain holes in the guy. But its still better he dies in some cold hospital where they don't see it every day when they come to work. I like the comments about the women who worry that when their children go out for the evening, they worry about him getting dead. Its all just straight bullshit to make them feel better about it all. The women are being interviewed on Live PD right now (A&E). He was shot 4 times. I believe the announcer said he confessed or was linked to 10 robberies. The program will re-air at 11PM CST. The interview is about 35 minutes into the show. Nothing earth shattering said. | |||

Lots of lessons to be learned there for sure. Glad that they prevailed. I hope this was a wake-up call, and they seek out some training, and perhaps some better guns with better ballistics and/or ammo. That watch dealer in LA that was in like 4 or 5 shootings, kept a gun positioned in his shop every 3 to 4 feet. At first it was revolvers, and then it was high capacity 9MM's. Respectfully, I have never understood the reasoning behind alternating slug and shot rounds. If one needs to pull the trigger in self defense, the goal is to stop the threat, not convince or threaten to stop. 12 gauge slug/00 buck would work. Alternating the same in .410? Ehhh... In either case, just fire slugs. That said... (Pardon my language that follows).. Those two ladies had the will to put that motherfucker down. Sure, we can discuss all day things like caliber and training. They might have never thought about the former, or done the latter, but they sure as shit were willing to pull the trigger. Whether or not the one lady knew the revolver was empty, she fought like her life depended on it. As has been said at numerous training classes, always consider the gun to be loaded. Even if it is empty, she is making the assailant expend massive amounts of energy while wounded. He also fought like his life depended on it, aside from the fact that he was obviously on the wrong side of the law on this. I'm not defending him at all (and wouldn't think of it) - I'm seeing this video as a chance to observe and learn. This is a learning opportunity. When you're defending yourself in a fight, you have to reach deep and pull everything you can to overcome your opponent. There are those who say that the person in the right always have that extra piece of energy, but that is just positive thinking. Put yourself in this video (on either side). Would you fight and pull everything you can out to win? In some law enforcement training, there is an opportunity to go up against an instructor in a "red man" suit and using your baton. As you wear down, he will grab the baton and wrestle it with you to try and make you reach deep to use technique to pull away. This is just two minutes, but it is one of the LONGEST two minutes of your life if you've never done something like this. Just remember, the one lady fought like her life depended on it when the bad guy tried to take her gun. She won the fight, and THEY won the battle. I won't even try to suggest what punishment he gets if he survives, although I think he will be very old and an invalid by the time he even gets the opportunity to be in free society again. | |||

I agree completely. It’s similar to (but makes even less sense than) alternating hollow points and nonexpanding bullet loads in a magazine. As this incident clearly demonstrated, hitting an opponent who’s actively fighting isn’t easy even at very close distances; it’s not like taking on sheets of paper at the local range. Even law enforcement officers have a hit ratio of only ten to 20 percent, and most are very likely much more experienced with savage personal violence than the two women were. I don’t know what their hit ratio was, but if they scored only four hits, it was obviously less than 50 percent of total shots fired. If one person was defending using a “Judge” loaded with alternating slugs and birdshot, that could easily have meant that only the birdshot loads hit the assailant; if that had happened and then she’d been out of ammo, then what? Self-defense involves more than having a gun, and considering reasonable possibilities and consequences is part of it. The reason I choose what self-defense cartridges I rely on is because I assume that things aren’t going to go as I hope they will and as I can expect them to happen on the shooting range. Straw man. I did not suggest that. Although I am quite confident that either of them could handle a higher capacity 9mm. They fought - and luckily, they prevailed. But the largest factors witnessed in their near demise were a lack of training and a likelihood of poor terminal ballistics. | |||

A good friend of mine owned a jewelry store that was held up by two men with pistols. He had guns placed under the counter and said that they were totally useless. He sold the store afterward, but still carries on his hip and ankle, all the time. FWIW: a Chicago LEO who was involved in 15 shootouts said that after the first couple, he began practicing head shots. The first incident involved a little guy-- like 130 pounds-- that he and his partner shot more than a dozen times with .38s. At close range up to "muzzle pressed into his back." He was still fighting and, if I remember right, he lived. What I take away from all this: 9mm at a minimum, and shot placement is the whole story. Best shot placement is the head. Just possessing that cut-down shotgun should result in a long stay at Club Fed. Unless of course the Obama Doctrine of "No Intention to Break the Law" is applied.  Someone mentioned that the ladies remotely locked the front door. When he comes back the first time, he does appear to be pointing toward the door and pleading (I assume) to be allowed to exit. This is hindsight I admit, but just letting him out may have saved the older lady a gash on the head. ... stirred anti-clockwise. | |||

They fought like hell and had more heart to protect themselves then he did. In fact his heart betrayed him. When he fought the lady his heart rate soared, and pumped his blood out the newly installed holes. I think they did a hell of a job with what they had. Hopefully they decide they need a duty style pistol that holds 13-17 rounds of premium SD ammo and a better plan, but there is no way I'm going to say they did a thing wrong. Having guns under the counter is better than none at all. But these ladies need to be carrying on their persons in an iwb holster to better respond to a threat. The only reason they were able to retrieve their pistols was due to carelessness by the perp. And there was only one of him. | |||
