I've been here a while. I don't recall too much from when I first joined (I was on the S&W forum too). I do recall a bit of banter with lbj that was fun. I do not recall ever being treated poorly. There have been times when I acted poorly, hopefully not too many.

IcabodIt was when I learned that a doper had tried to break into my daughter’s house. She was on the phone with 911, the burglar alarm was on, her dog was in full bark and she was yelling that she had a gun. The doper got the door open and saw a very angry woman with a Sig. He ran and she released her dog. The doper was taken off the back fence. That’s when the police arrived.
When asked, the doper explained he’d chosen the house as “she lived alone and had a small dog.”
That’s when I learned she had an old Sig 226, that didn’t work well. She, with my help, bought a used Sig 226. This lead to my rekindled interest in shooting. Which lead to my buying a new 226.
Somehow I came upon the forum and Para. I liked what a found and stayed.

Todd HuffmanI've been here a while, and spend much more time reading than posting. I've gotten called down a time or two by Para, but nothing major.
I really enjoy the membership here. I get most of my news from here, and have learned a lot over the years. I love the amount of knowledge here, no matter the topic.
Thanks for everything Para, and everyone else here.

CPD SIGI asked a question about P-220 magazines.
It got answered rather quickly!
I stuck around for the gay cake and dope smoking. There may have been cat photos and bacon involved, definitely bourbon, toss in some watches and a few Glocks too.

bald1I happened to be admitted here the same day as <<<Cliftard>>> was and immediately got pulled into that classic thread. What a ride!

Certifiable member of the gun toting, septuagenarian, bucket list workin', crazed retiree, bald is beautiful club!

JupiterIn my earlier days, I remember engaging in a lot more smartassery. I also remember being put in my place by you or other members.

Not surprisingly, June 20, 2010 was a Sunday, the official day for epic flame-outs on SIGforum!

horsedocI joined because I was looking for a 229 in 357sig and couldn't find one anywhere. I quickly learned from the forum I could by a 40, readily available at the time, and just order a 357sig barrel and would be golden.
I'm not a big tech guy and don't post much but I follow the forum on a daily basis.
Back in 2020 I believe a vendor crashed my practice management server computer and abandoned me After 2 days of trying to fix it. Once again I'm not a tech guy but I thought I would throw my problem out to the forum. Two members here managed to talk me through fixing my server in half a day on a weekend. For that I'll be forever grateful to those members and para for giving me the opportunity to connect with them.

FenderBenderNo FNG issues for me, but I've been on web forums since the good old BBS days. Being familiar with "gun guys" and what a good forum member looks like I for one want to say Para has done one hell of a job admining such a place, looking at other gun forums they're not nearly as well run or as pleasant to be on. But I would like my account modification rights back, if I had any sort of complaint.

Granted
In return, I would like to hear you take responsibility for the troubles you caused yourself some time ago. After that, you will hear me mention it no more.

I own what I said, it admittedly was too broad of a brush and any member here who felt slighted has my genuine apology. I fully believe my concerns will be addressed in the next few years (or days at this rate) with Trump at the helm, and I couldn't be more pleased.

400mIt was helpful. I needed some info on a P6 I owned. I didn’t become very active for quite a while, work & family. Slowly I realized what I had stumbled onto and how unique this place is. I feel fortunate to be a member here, it’s the best place on the web.

SBrooksI remember treading lightly at first (both from being nervous about the big mean admin & just not wanting to get labeled as a fool or newbie or anything else).
Eventually, you just be yourself and it all works out.
AND I won a pizza from someone up north in my first 6 months or so - and that was cool as crap

MaestroOne of my first posts was a complete newbie question where I thought my 226 was “smoking” when dry firing. It was just excess lubricant.
The members were very kind to me asking such a stupid question.

P-220I was a Lurker, then someone asked for informaiton about TDI Ohio. Having trained there for years, I felt inclined to join SIGforum, so I could offer a testimonial.
It was pretty simple back then.
I was welcomed by a number of members.

BigCitySince I mostly lurk and gain knowledge, I have not had any problems. You do a great job of cracking down on those who need it.

The key to enforcement is to punish the violator, not an inanimate object. The punishment of inanimate objects for the commission of a crime or carelessness is an affront to stupidity.

FishOnI joined after buying my first SIG 25 years ago (P229) and lurked on the SIG pistols board, learning a ton. Really did not check out the Lounge much until later, and that was another great discovery. A large percentage of what I know about firearms I learned here over the years. Had some nice interactions with LBJ and he gave me a CUT. Para runs a tight ship and it is appreciated.

Even if those things are about unix. Not likely on any other firearms forum.

FenderBender, I have tried to stay on you like white on rice.
Your above statement… i accept your apology and hope you accept mine for consistency trolling you.
