Got one!!!

I've always tried to buy things of this nature after Labor Day, end of Summer sales events and end of season clearance sales, and it paid off this morning.

I had looked at one Ace Hardware store near me and they had a Genesis II 310 marked down from $899 to $799, plus tax of course. That's all they had, just this one left.

I went into another Ace Hardware this morning and they still had a really good selection available.

The GM of the store was helping me and we looked at the least expensive Genesis they had, $839 plus tax.

I was surprised when he said I could have it for $700 out the door, tax included. Pretty sweet deal.

He even cut me a little bit better deal for the Weber cover and a brand new Propane tank.

All in all, I ended up paying $857 for the grill, cover and propane tank, with free delivery.

I feel really lucky this morning, maybe I should go buy a few lottery tickets too.

Thank you all for your input, and for those of you recommending a pellet grill, I will start setting aside money for one of those and will have one before the grilling season starts in the Spring.

I'd suggest looking at the Weber Q3200, it sounds like you just described what this grill was built for; patios and smaller areas. It also has a cast aluminum body that will never rust/rot out on you. I have the older Q320 and love it:

I have had my Genesis ll grill for 26 years. It gets used a LOT!! I finally had to replace the flavor bars at about 22 years. Mine is a 3 burner which is perfect for me. If this grill ever totally quits, I will again purchase a Weber Genesis grill. They just work and they last!!

We bought the stainless grates from the top end model to go on our Genisys. Money well spent. They’re thicker stainless. We didn’t have very good luck with the ceramic coated cast iron.

Agree 100%, bought a Genesis in 2010. Always kept it covered when not in use. Cleaned it regularly and took the best care of it I could. By 2018 the cart was significantly rusted, called Weber, would not budge on the $200 price to send a new one. I got rid of as much rust as I could, repainted. By the following year, the rust was back. Gave it away for.parts when we moved. The newer Genesis grills have a different cart, but I'm not convinced.

I have four different grills. Weber kettle, Weber genesis, recteq, and a black stone.

The black stone gets used once in a while. The recteq, constantly.

The webers… never used. Seriously, I need to sell those damn real estate whores.

Noah,
I've often thought of opportunities lost when it comes to outdoor cooking. Never fell into that rabbit hole other than a small cheap Weber kettle decades ago which is long gone.
So why am I commenting? My son just won a Treager grill/smoker. From everything I've seen he's gonna get spoiled pretty quickly. Big Grin
