Yes, but you soak them, the planks not the fish, in water for an hour or two and use indirect heat.

We have some giant coastal cedars on our property in the PNW that are literately small redwoods. Amazingly huge trees. Probably 12'-14' circumference or bigger. Very cool. Cedar burns fine. In a fire pit it is awesome. Smell's great, snaps and pop's. Provides good heat, but does not last in a stove. It is a soft wood. Beautiful and is gorgeous to use for projects of all sorts.
