I had a similar problem last summer with my Tacoma. Toyota technician showed me, and took pictures of rodent nest, around wiring harness. I submitted $1100 claim to my auto insurance company, (State Farm) and they paid the claim minus my deductable. BTW, the mechanic said that some of the newer wire insulation is made from corn, or soy derivitives...food for critters...
